About Equinox

I’m Anette Haug, founder of Equinox Coaching, and I believe what we do here is truly special.

Anette HaugFor Robert Redford in the Hollywood movie, it was Horse Whispering. We prefer to call it Horse Listening, the way of training and working with horses in a sympathetic and respectful relationship, just like the Western style of cowboys training their horses for cattle ranching.

It’s called Natural Horsemanship, and it means using gentle and non-aggressive techniques rather than the severe bit, bridle and beatings of conventional practice. Our horses have the freedom to live in a herd, go where they want in the fields and open stabling here and be happy. They are our team, not “business tools,” and Equinox Coaching is not a gimmick but a genuine, intelligent management course.

The horses live in their natural environment, establishing leaders as part of their normal behaviour. By working with them, our clients are able to draw their own conclusions about their behaviour in the office or the Boardroom and find the best way forward. We don’t tell clients what they need to do to change, they work it out themselves. That’s what makes this experience all the more powerful.

Equine Guided Education

In 2003 I bought my first horse Ed and trained in the pioneering John Lyons Natural Horsemanship method in Florida. My second horse Colin soon joined us. Then I heard about Equine Guided Leadership and in 2006 trained in this inspirational concept with Horsedream in Germany, run by Gerhard and Karin Krebs.

I followed on from this by developing my own leadership development programme to take the amazing knowledge I had learned into the business world. I ran my first Equinox Coaching seminars in Scotland from 2007 - 2009 and launched our new centre in Sussex, within easy reach of London and the South Coast, in 2010.
